About MoAD
The Missouri Association of the Deaf is convening leaders from the deaf community to collectively address access, social, and communication challenges. Collaborating with state agencies and organizations statewide, our aim is to continually enhance accessibility in Missouri, striving for tangible improvements daily.
The Missouri Association of the Deaf (MoAD) is the oldest and largest nonprofit, consumer-based organization of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in the state of Missouri, MoAD was founded in 1904 by the alumni of the Missouri School for the Deaf and incorporated in 1907. The MoAD, as a nonprofit, tax exempt organization as described in Section 501 (c)(3) of the United State Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United State Internal Revenue Law), is supported by its members and others who are interested in furthering the MoAD goals.
Mission:
The mission of the MoAd is to preserve, protect, and promote the rights and quality of life of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in the state of Missouri, and to cooperate with the National Association of the Deaf for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing on the national level.
